Watch My Reel

Erica Frankel began taking dance classes and playing soccer at age 3. By age 5 she quit soccer (after kicking the ball to the other team "because they wanted it more" and winning 'Best Singer on the Field'), and told her parents that she wanted to grow up to be a "multi-talented artist." She is now a dancer and performer in New York City.

Erica's training includes North Carolina School of the Arts, The School at Jacob's Pillow, the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance, and New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she performed works by Silas Reiner, Jessica Lang, Gus Solomons, Jr., and Trisha Brown. Since graduating with her BFA, Erica has danced on stage, screen, and museum floor with rockstar artists Meredith Monk, Yina Ng, expandance, VaBang! Dance Company, Ilana Webber, Naomi Goldberg Haas, ETCH Dance Company, Belinda He, and many others. You can see her full resume here.

Favorite performances include the first time she danced at Judson Church (she wept), running up and down the rotunda at the Guggenheim, and wearing a full-length wig in front of 7,958 people at the Kansas City Starlight Theatre for her first gig after college: the Equity production of The Music Man.

Erica is a proud arts infrastructure dweeb on the Dance/NYC Junior Committee, a freakishly talented group of volunteers who brought you the Dance Workforce Census: Earnings Among Individuals 21-35. She is also on the Artists Board of National Choreography Month (Nachmo) - your yearly choreographic kick in the pants. She's also an experiential Jewish educator and the Manager of Student Life at NYU's Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life. Erica is working towards her Master's Degree from NYU's Gallatin School for Individualized Study and has recently received two grants to study contemporary dance in Israel.
